About Me

My mission statement is simple; to help you find serenity.

My specialty is deep relaxation massage. I am not a deep tissue therapist! I utilize mainly SWEDISH massage tecniques, (which are especially beneficial for relaxing the entire body), but I may also employ some deep tissue, and hot or cold stones, depending upon your needs. Swedish massage consists of long, gliding strokes in the direction of the bodies blood flow, thereby returning the blood to your heart. Swedish massage has many benefits beyond relaxation. This type of massage increases the level of oxygen in your blood, decreases muscle toxins, and improves circulation and flexibility while easing tensions, both physical and mental. When I incorporate HOT STONES to the massage, it further increases the deep relaxation. Please note, deep tissue is not my forte. If you desire a strictly deep tissue massage, I'm NOT the therapist for you. If you're seeking serenity, and a pure, blissful deeply relaxingh experience, come in, be soothed... Exhale! I am also a licensed skin care therapist and can do facials or hair removal when requested.

Benefits of massage

Massage is generally considered part of complementary and alternative medicine. It's increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.

While more research is needed to confirm the benefits of massage, some studies have found massage helpful for:

  • Stress relief
  • Managing anxiety and depression
  • Pain
  • Stiffness
  • Blood pressure control
  • Sports-related injuries
  • Boosting immunity
  • Cancer treatment

Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massage because it often involves caring, comfort, a sense of empowerment and creating deep connections with their massage therapist.

Despite its benefits, massage isn't meant as a replacement for regular medical care. Let your doctor know you're trying massage and be sure to follow any standard treatment plans you have.
